It's what's inside that matters!

Inside a differentiated classroom, each individual effort must be honored. Excellence can only be achieved if we see each student for their potential, and not their shortcomings!

Helpful Hints:

Take time to study differences as a basis of planning.
Each students differences shape the curriculum.
Pre-assessment is a must!
Make sure multiple learning materials are available and on hand.
Offer multiple options for students.
Help students make sense of options.
Give students information and help them understand it.
Put emphasis on concepts and connections!
Vary your pacing.
Allow students to aid in setting goals and standards.
Vary your grading criteria!

You gotta take the time to see more than just the surface of things- really dig in and make a difference in your teaching style by getting your students involved in the change you want to be!

I love that we can make connections for our students! I want to be the type of teacher who inspires students to take responsibilities for their own actions, while inspiring them to be the best they can be. By helping students make sense of their options, they are able to see the big picture!

  1. Honoring each child for who he or she is, is a beautiful concept. and I too, believe it with all of my heart. Do you have questions about how to really DO it, especially when time is so short while you are teaching and meeting so many demands? 5 pts.
